Just another foot soldier in the battle for the future of this country.
Reuters has a somewhat funny and sad report on incoming House intelligent Chair Rep. Silvestre Reyes from Texas.
When asked what religious sect of Islam al qaeda is, Reyes is reported to have said,
<"Predominantly -- probably Shi'ite," he said in a recent interview with Congressional Quarterly, a periodical that covers political and legislative issues in Congress.>
When asked about Hezbollah?
<Asked to describe the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, Congressional Quarterly said Reyes responded: "Hezbollah. Uh, Hezbollah," and then said, "Why do you ask me these questions at five o'clock?">
Good to hear that many things will be changing in Washington in the next few months. From having idiots with a R next to the name, we will now have idiots with D next to their names... Another great day for America. :(
Somehow, someway, one of the only heroes I have in this world had Rahm Emanuel on his show the other night. Did anyone watch the Daily Show on Monday? I couldn't find the video on YouTube, but here is the link from the Daily Show website that lists all its past guests.
I was somewhat disappointed by Emanuel's appearance. Not because the guy seemed very shallow and he was amazingly UN-funny, but Stewart promoted Emanuel's new book, called "The Plan" and gave Emanuel a lot of credit for the success of the mid-terms. The plan, Mr. Emanuel? Which plan is this, to ride on coattails of the Howard Dean and the blogosphere that single handily brought down the likes of George Allen and Conrad Burns? Or is it the plan just to take the credit of everyone's hard work?
But I digress. I know that most of us here don't like Rahm for various different reasons, but I would honestly like to know what everyone OBJECTIVELY thought of his appearance on Monday night. Hello all,
I've been reading MyDD for quite some time, just haven't joined up for no particular reason except that I really haven't had much to write about. Well, maybe that can change. I really don't know how this works yet, or if anyone will even read my diary and whatnot, but hey, it can't hurt... right? NO seriously, it won't will it. :) I keed.
Now, here is a joke to begin my bloggin experience.
"How many republicans does it take to change a lightbulb?
Three. One to change the bulb, one to call the media to publicize it, and one to blame the electric bill on the democrats."
